Our Electric Calorimeter is designed to measure the potential heat capabilities of various solid or liquid fuels. It features a mounted heating coil with a resistance of about 1.5 ohms, connected via standard binding posts. When powered by a 6V battery, the coil induces a temperature rise of approximately 5°C in 10 minutes. The supporting posts and coil are coated to prevent electrolysis. Additionally, an insulated stirrer supported by a rubber stopper is included. This apparatus is ideal for educational demonstrations and experiments in thermodynamics and energy transfer. Measure the heat capacity of various solid and liquid fuels, compare the heat capabilities of different fuels, explore the efficiency of electric heating in different media, and understand the importance of electrolysis prevention in heating coils. Instructions are included for easy setup and use.
